Brookland is a popular area, ideally located just over 3 miles NE of downtown, and contains the Brookland-CUA Metro station for easy commutes. Nestled in a peaceful and walk-friendly neighborhood, it provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown with the ability to get there still via metro and bus lines.
With a variety of trendy restaurants, bars, vibrant coffee shops, and stores located in the neighborhood -- especially along 12th Street and Rhode Island Ave, you have great destinations to explore. Walk just around the corner to enjoy local favorites such as Rita's Italian Ice, Provost, Emma’s Torch, Jamerica, Zeke's Coffee, His and Hers, 7 Days Market (Ethiopian), and Manny & Olga's Pizza. UberEats and DoorDash also deliver from several downtown restaurants!
Just 6 minutes down Rhode Island Ave heading towards downtown, you can enjoy The Alamo, a modern dine-in movie theatre, and Kraken, a new sports complex with roller-skating, pickleball, axe throwing, and rage rooms! Bryant St Market has a food court of various dining spots and shops.
Be sure to visit the galleries at The Museum, Art Enables, and the Arts Walk at Monroe Street Market, catch a performance at the Dance Place, enjoy the Farmer’s Market on weekends, or take a walk through The Franciscan Monastery's beautiful gardens.

Rave Reviews
From AirBnB.com
Kristin was very friendly and relaxed, so nice to meet with her. The place is very comfortable and well-appointed. Around the corner from our family, so wonderfully convenient. Looking forward to another stay.
The place was clean and so home like that it didn't even feel like it was in a basement. The place was quiet as well. We didn't get in till 2 am and she actually messaged us to make sure we got in ok. that was super sweet. We came in for a football game at fed x she helped us find the cheapest way to get to the field. This was our first time coming to DC so this was an added bonus.
The Azalea Suite ended up being on of the nicest AirBnB’s we have stayed at. It was immaculately clean, the host added many touches to make you feel right at home, and the decor was beautiful. It really felt like staying in a high end hotel!
